AWARD-WINNING MASTER ESTHETICIAN

What does a double chin, jowls, and puffy eyes have in common? LYMPH! What is lymph? The lymphatic system works 24/7 to get rid of the waste from other body systems. You could say, it’s the body’s  housekeeper.

Lymph can over accumulate resulting in the puffiness we see in and around the face. A sedentary lifestyle, toxic food and beverages, pollution, infections, and stress all play a part in lymph overload. Ever notice the day after consuming too much wine or alcohol how puffy the under eye area gets? That’s lymph overload.

While that sounds like a battle you can’t win, the good news is, you can! I’ve performed manual lymph drainage of the face on many, many clients. It delivers instant results that you will simply love. If you’re not fortunate to have a personal esthetician nearby, there are techniques you can perform at home.

Lymphatic drainage massage using VERY gentle touch is a powerful technique to help increase lymph flow. With an increase of lymph flow, not only will you see a reduction in puffy eyes, sagging jowls but you’ll also boost the immune function. Harmful substances are removed from the tissues and neutralized in the nodes.

The proper touch and direction in lymph drainage massage is important. It requires a very light, gentle touch massaging upward and outward. Gravity forces it downward so this gentle up and out movement helps improve the flow of lymph toning and adding a lovely glow to the skin. A deep touch will cause swelling and inflammation.

Ideally, use the Anma it’s miraculous due to it’s evenly spaced “fingertips.” If you don’t have an Anma, use the heel of both hands ever so gently. Start at the top of your forehead and work down to the brow, then to your temples and down the jawline. Switch up to the pinky finger side of your hands and move down the side of the neck and down to the clavicle. With one finger, press and hold each spot as indicated in the diagram to release muscles stuck from repeated facial expression or tension. Repeat 3 to 5 times.

To create a glide effect on the surface of your skin, use a serum (thicker more intense substance) or a moisturizer because it will reduce friction and pulling of the skin. One also containing hyaluronic acid is ideal.
